NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL COMPUTER COMPETITION

 

The  High School Computer Competition is designed to stimulate the interests of youth in computer technologies and information systems. August 4, 2004 marks the 18th National High School Computer Competition.  The competition is divided into three categories:

   (1)  VBScript,Javascript,HTML Web based project

   (2) General Computer History, Theory, Terminology

   (3) BDPA History

Each member of the first, second and third place teams will be awarded various prizes including academic scholarships.

The competition is held during the National Youth Mini-Conference in which students attend workshops geared toward college preparation and beyond.  Past workshops have included the following topics.

     * HTML: The Development of the Internet
     * Object Oriented Programming
     * Young Entrepreneurs – How to Become One
     * Financial Aid

Cultural and social activities, as well as technical and professional seminars are incorporated into the conference. Participants also have the opportunity to network with information technology professionals and interact with their future colleagues.
