President’s Responsibilities:
Shall be responsible for seeing that the decisions of BDPA Houston Chapter are
carried out in a timely manner.
Shall be the ex-officio member of all BDPA Houston Chapter Departments (including
the Corporate Advisory Council).
Shall appoint all departments directors, with the approval of the Board of
Directors (BOD).
Shall serve as the official spokesperson for the Houston Chapter.
Shall ensure that chapter meets all chapter and National BDPA goals, challenges,
and objectives.
Shall ensure that the chapter's two to five year strategic plans, budget and
By-law changes are presented in writing to the Board of Directors and membership each year.
Shall attend or appoint an individual to attend the National BDPA Board of
Directors meetings and report back to local chapter on prominent issues.
Shall make sure that leadership positions are filled. Appoint directors.
Work with Board and Volunteer Coordinator to staff departments.
Shall ensure that funds are available for programs and activities.
Raise funds through corporate marketing and fund raising events.
Shall conduct regular performance review of vice presidents and departments
directors.
Shall develop & publicize the chapter awards criteria.
Shall ensure that all correspondence addressed to the chapter is responded to on a
timely basis.
Shall submit a written status report on monthly activity to the BOD.
Shall be a registered attendee at the National BDPA Conference.
